WOMANIZER PLEASURE FUND

Breast cancer and its treatments can have a significant impact on a woman's sexual health and wellbeing. Many women report feeling a reduced sense of sexual self-esteem; particularly following breast surgery, radiation therapy, or chemotherapy. Treatment can also lead to premature menopause and a range of symptoms that negatively impact sexual health, including vaginal dryness, pain during intercourse, and decreased libido.

Additionally, the physiological response to sexual stimulation might be affected by these treatments, leading to vaginal atrophy and can affect sexual arousal and cause sexual pain. Addressing these issues can potentially improve the overall quality of life for breast cancer survivors.

The Womanizer Pleasure Fund, a commitment from Womanizer to invest 250,000 € over the next five years in research on female sexual health, was able to fund Charite’s Institute of Sexology and Sexual Medicine research into sexual wellbeing and sexual dysfunctions in breast cancer survivors.

In 2019, Charité's created a working research group called "Female Desire," which aims to promote women's sexual health by working on the development of new diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive approaches.
